Navigate to the Workshop for Garry’s Mod and install “VRMod - Experimental Virtual Reality” and “Half-Life 2 Campaign Content” mods.Make sure you have Half-Life 2 and Garry’s Mod installed on Steam.Patience – The game plays through from start to finish more or less perfectly, but this is an enthusiast/diehard experience and completely unfit for people who aren’t willing to roll their sleeves up.The airboat is the biggest offender by far, but I think there may have been a few other moments that I can’t specifically recall – be cautious if you are prone to sickness, and consider leaving this for when your VR legs improve. VR Legs / Iron Stomach – I don’t ever feel sick, but there are some moments here that will test you.Garry’s Mod + HL2 in Steam – Garry’s Mod was a cheap $12 for me, though I have no interest in it other than for this application.This guide is intended to reduce the time you spend messing around, so that you can get more time in the game and complete Half-Life 2 completely in Virtual Reality.I probably spent about 12-15 hours in the campaign, and another 5 or so hours messing around with stuff to get it working.Turns out the gravity gun is pretty fun in VR – who knew. Would highly recommend it to any serious fans.

This was the best method I found, and I’m happy to say that I loved it! It was a fantastic, epic experience, even with all the technical and configuration challenges. As soon as I finished, I wanted to continue in to HL2. Recently I played through Lambda1VR (HL1) on Quest, and loved it.Add support for Half-Life 1 & 2 campaigns to the necessary NPCs, allowing the user to play any of the campaign using the Auto Replace feature.Introduce an optional feature that automatically replaces Half-Life 1 & 2 NPCs with their Half-Life-Resurgence counterpart.Add NPC Controller support to all the NPCs, allowing the user to play as any character.Examples: Black Ops Robo Grunts, Combine & Rebel engineers, content from Sven Coop, and much more! Add custom content that we or the community have envisioned.Examples: HECU engineers can construct turrets, new weapons for Rebels, and many more!

Add new features, including new abilities, AI behaviors, weapons, etc.

Recreate cut, alpha, and beta content, if no information is given by Valve, then reimagine them to the best of our ability.

Use only the original effects, particles, decals and textures wherever possible.

Recreate every possible NPC, entity, and some weapons from the Half-Life series with respect to the original games.
